Ultra Machu Picchu 5K

Walk along ancient Inca trails, surrounded by imposing mountains or Apus, while crossing cloud forests full of life and vegetation. As you advance, the paths take you to crystal-clear lagoons, such as Laguna de Piuray, whose hues reflect the majesty of the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota mountain range. And to make the journey even more epic, you will discover the surprising agricultural terraces of Chinchero, an archaeological wonder that evokes Inca ingenuity.

But that’s not all. The route will take you through mountain passes as high as cachicata, an Inca quarry from which megaliths were extracted for the construction of Inca cities such as Ollantaytambo, where the view extends over the Sacred Valley and the peaks of Chicon and Wakay Willka (Veronica), offering you panoramas that seem to touch the sky.

And at the end of the tour, you will be welcomed in the historic city of Cusco, the capital of Tawantinsuyu, where the vibrant and ancestral culture will envelop you.

• Race Start (Gun Start): Sunday, June 28, 2026 — 08:00 hrs
• Max Time: 03:00 hours (finish line closes Sunday at 11:00 hrs).

Required Documentation

To collect your race kit and start the Ultra Machu Picchu 100K, every runner must present:
Identification
• Original ID or Passport + 1 physical photocopy
Medical Certificate
• Signed and stamped by a licensed physician
• Valid within 6 months of race day
Declaration of Honor / Waiver
• Signed document accepting race terms and personal responsibility

• Proof of payment and registration

Age Group Categories: Recognition for age brackets will be opened only for categories with more than 10 registered runners.
Finisher Medal: All runners who complete the 5K course within the 3-hour time limit will receive an exclusive Ultra Machu Picchu 2026 Finisher Medal.

Pro-Tips for the “5k”

Strategic Acclimatization: The race takes place at extreme altitudes. Arrive in Cusco at least 3 to 4 days before the start.
Logistics & Support: Don’t stress about the details. Our official logistics partner, Tupac Adventures, offers specialized packages for runners, including airport transfers, acclimatization tours, and race-day transport.
Weather Mastery: Be prepared for sudden changes. Temperatures can drop significantly at night; always keep your waterproof and thermal layers accessible.
Gear Preparation: Test all your mandatory gear during training. Do not use new shoes or equipment on race day.
